Appeals

If a case cannot be settled through mediation and it goes to trial, one or both of the parties may feel the court’s decision was unjust. Either party can appeal the trial court’s decision. There are two appellate courts in Oregon; the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court. An appeal is often a long and expensive process. If you believe your case should be appealed, this requires serious review and consideration of the risks and expense involved. Our firm regularly handles family law appeals and we can help make the decision of whether or not to appeal your case.
