The firm was founded by B.S. Huntington and
H.S. Wilson, both of whom were educated at
the University of Vermont. Mr. Huntington
received his A.B. at the University of Vermont
in 1882. He relocated to Michigan in 1882
and received his A.M. in 1885 at the Law Department,
University of Michigan. Mr. Huntington then
continued west and was admitted to the Oregon
State Bar in 1885. He practiced Law in The
Dalles from 1886 to 1890, before making one
last trip west to Portland, Oregon in 1909.
Shortly after B.S. Huntington relocated to
Portland, H.S. Wilson arrived and together
they formed the partnership Huntington &
Wilson in 1909. With steady growth, particularly
the addition of Ted Jensen in 1930, the firm
established itself as a top flight banking,
real estate and insurance defense resource
for local and national clients. It was this
partnership that would eventually become Schulte,
Anderson, Downes, Aronson & Bittner.
Remaining a smaller firm size (ten lawyers
presently), the firm has been able to focus
its efforts on chosen specialty areas of law.
The ever-growing litigation practice has,
like other professional practices, required
specialization efforts on the part of attorneys.
Insurance defense, professional liablity,
construction, real estate and business litigation
have become the focus areas of our trial lawyers.
The firm has made a commitment to changing
technology with online legal research as well
as connections to major local and national
databases through the Internet. Our world
has been diminshed in size by technology and
advanced methods of communication. No longer
is it necessary to “trade telephone
calls” with opposing counsel and clients
creating needless increases to client costs.
Use of email and online document transmittal
create powerful tools for the small firm to
work in a BIG way. To that end, Schulte Anderson
is committed to continued growth and improvement
of services offered in their fields of legal
expertise. |
