Simon
was born in 1966 in Redding, California
but has lived in Oregon since 1971.
He grew up in Estacada, a small logging
town in the Cascade foothills. He graduated
high school in 1984 and had the good
fortune to attend Lewis and Clark College
in Portland, graduating in 1988, with
a degree in History with a minor in
political science. Simon fondly remembers
riding his bicycle through driving rain
to attend an 8:00 a.m., two hour political
theory class twice a week, Winter semester.
While in high school and college, Simon
worked a variety of jobs ranging from
operating a grass seed processing plant,
working in a gas station as well as
a lumber mill and shearing and harvesting
Christmas trees, to working in a toy
store.
Simon attended the University of Oregon
Law School, commencing in 1989. Simon
was hired to spend the summer of 1991
as a clerk with the firm. In 1992, he
graduated and went to work with the
firm as an associate attorney. He became
a partner in the firm January 1, 2000.
Simon had the great fortune of meeting
his wife Kimberly while attending Lewis
and Clark College. They married in August
1992 and have four children.
Simon enjoys spending time with his
family, endless yard and home maintenance,
as well as fly fishing, camping and
backpacking. He also has an inexplicable
affinity for ancient Land Rovers, which
require him to spend a fair amount of
time tinkering in the garage. Fortunately,
the family also owns two reliable automobiles.
Simon’s practice consists of litigation
defending insured clients, as well as
handling personal injury claims for
injured people and general litigation
matters. Simon’s practice
includes personal injury, professional
malpractice, nursing home and construction
defect litigation. Representative
insurance company clients include United
Services Automobile Association (USAA),
State Farm Insurance Companies, Mercury
Insurance Company, Brotherhood Mutual
Insurance Company, The Professional
Liability Fund, Portland General Electric
Company, Interstate Insurance Company
and Fireman’s Fund.
