A native of Portland, Mike spent most of his first six years living in California, Texas, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He has lived in Portland ever since. Mike spent his childhood and early adulthood as a competitive swimmer. When not in the water, he developed a fondness for horror films which he now indulges whenever he can.

After completing law school, Mike worked for four years as a staff attorney, and one year as branch manager and supervising attorney, at St. Andrew Legal Clinic in Hillsboro, Oregon. During that time, he represented the indigent and working poor in all manner of family law disputes. Since joining the firm in 2002, he continues to practice family law, along with representing insured clients in litigation.
