Under Oregon law either party may seek a divorce to end their marriage. Oregon is a “no fault” state. This means that either party may seek a divorce for any reason. The court will not make you explain your reasons. It is sufficient if either party simply says that they want a divorce.
The issues that must be decided in a divorce usually include child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal support (alimony), and divided up the property and debts.
Divorce can be a very difficult process emotionally and financially for the entire family. We strive to reconcile the issues as amicably and efficiently as possible.
