Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Gile moved to Portland in 1969 and worked for Schuler, Rankin, Myers, Walsh & Ragen until 1974. In 1974, Jensen, DeFrancq & Holmes invited him to join the firm. Gile worked closely with Theodore B. Jensen, who was then the senior member of the firm.
Gile’s practice emphasizes real estate brokerage, real estate transactions, general business and estate planning and settlement. With over 40 years of business law experience, Gile is a highly sought consultant and counsel for Oregon businesses. He has extensive experience in drafting real estate agreements and forms and is currently the general counsel to several residential real estate brokerage companies in the Portland metropolitan area. With an unparalleled experience in both probate and non-probate estate settlement, Gile is widely considered one of Oregon’s top Trust and Estates attorneys.
Other career accomplishments include having authored and in subsequent publications revised the chapter on Real Estate Licensees for the Real Property handbook series published by the Oregon State Bar and having served for 20 years as a registered lobbyist in Oregon, representing the interests of the real estate community before both the Oregon Real Estate Agency and the Oregon Legislature.
