Nicole L. Deering

Nicole’s practice focuses on family law where she uses her legal expertise and dispute resolution skills to help clients navigate through the difficult changes brought about by divorce. As an advocate Nicole is compassionate, pragmatic and creative in guiding clients toward the best possible outcome to complex family problems. Her clients are well informed about the various processes available to resolve disputes and in addition to traditional options, she offers collaborative law and advocacy in mediated and negotiated settlements.

A native Portlander, Nicole is proud to live and work in the community where she and her husband grew up and now raise their own family. Nicole received her Philosophy degree from the Portland State University Honors College, and her Juris Doctor Degree from Lewis & Clark Northwestern Law School. In 1995 Nicole began her family law career with Oregon Legal Services where she developed a passion for access to justice, leading to her continued service on committees and boards of organizations addressing the needs of the underrepresented.

Nicole's activities outside of work include being a parent to two teenage boys, running, yoga, gardening, cooking, entertaining and spending time with friends and family.
